Effective date: September 25, 2026
Last updated: September 25, 2026

Ounce ("Ounce," "we," "us," or "our") provides inventory management software for bars, restaurants, and beverage-service venues ("Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to getounce.com and the Ounce web application (the "App").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

a. Account information

When you or your venue sign up for Ounce, we collect:

b. Venue and inventory data

To provide the Services, we collect the operational data your venue enters or imports, including:

c. Team member information

An account administrator may invite other people at their venue to use Ounce. We collect the name and email address of each invited team member, and a record of which entries (counts, reports, etc.) each team member submits, so the app can attribute and reconcile data correctly.

d. Payment information

Subscription billing is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. We receive limited billing information from Stripe (such as subscription status, plan, and billing history) to manage your account.

e. Usage and device data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the App, including IP address, browser type, device type, pages/features accessed, and timestamps of activity. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and improving the Services.

f. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies or similar local storage to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your venue's inventory or sales data to advertise to you or to third parties.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Services:

We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Use of Google user data

If you sign in with Google, Ounce only requests basic profile information (name, email address, profile picture) to create and authenticate your account. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, or other Google services, and any Google user data we receive is used solely to operate account sign-in for Ounce — never for advertising, and never transferred to third parties except the service providers listed above as needed to operate the Services.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and venue data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to allow reactivation, satisfy legal or accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable third-party infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users

Ounce is hosted on infrastructure that may process and store data in countries other than your own. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer and processing, which we handle consistently with this Privacy Policy regardless of location.
